Endless Possibilities

Marine and Freshwater Survey

Carcinus’ in-house ecologists use the capability provided by the BlueROV2 system to provide ecological surveys on behalf of their clients. Making use of an on-board 4K camera, our team can undertake detailed habitat assessments, biodiversity surveys and much more. To find out more about our survey capability, visit this page.

Asset Inspection

One of the most common uses for a compact ROV like the BlueROV2 is asset inspection. Compact ROVs are ideally suited to working in small spaces that larger ROV systems wouldn’t be able to reach. By combining the standard BlueROV2 configuration with add-ons like the Heavy Upgrade Kit, the Newton Subsea Gripper or the Ping360 Sonar, the system can be tailored to a variety of different uses.

Academic Research

The increased safety, efficiency and reduced costs of using ROV systems rather than conventional methods like divers means that academics are rapidly exploring uses for systems like the BlueROV2 for marine biology, oceanography and autonomous systems development. The Carcinus team comprises professional marine scientists with a background in academic research, so we are well placed to assist with your enquiries and can help put together your ideal ROV solution

Search and Rescue

Like with Academic Research, ROV systems are commonly used by search and rescue teams to locate missing people, boats, automobiles or other sunken objects.

By combining the system with add-ons like the Newton Subsea Gripper, or the Ping360 Sonar, the ROV can even be used as an asset for recovery.

And much, much more…

Key Features:

Why buy from us?

We are customers ourselves

Our heavy configuration BlueROV2 is a key part of our marine and freshwater survey capability. We use the ROV with a variety of add-ons, including additional cameras, the Ping360 Sonar, Fathom Tether Spool and other custom components for habitat assessments, biodiversity surveys and asset inspections for our clients. This gives us real-world experience so that we can understand completely the needs of our customers, and how they plan to ultimately go on and use the systems they purchase.

Seamless Imports

Blue Robotics componentry is custom made in the United States, which means that there are specific taxes and import duties that must be paid on all the imported componentry.
