Carcinus Ltd offers a warm welcome to Matthew Davison who is joining the team as Director and Principal Ecologist. Carcinus currently supports a diverse portfolio of clients operating within a wide range of industry sectors. The appointment of Matthew will enable continued growth and increase the breadth of services we provide, whilst strengthening our core aquatic ecology and consultancy services in both marine and freshwater environs. Matthew joins Carcinus with a remit to further develop and deliver our aquatic environmental services, principally in relation to ecological assessments within offshore, coastal, estuarine and freshwater environments.
Matthew has a broad range and depth of technical expertise gained over 11 years of working in the commercial environment sector, in addition to his academic studies. He specialises in the assessment of developments within or near to aquatic environments. He is highly proficient in the production of technical reports, baseline characterisations and environmental impact assessments with a specific interest in fish / shellfish ecology and recreational / commercial fisheries. In this capacity, Matthew has worked on some of the UK’s largest aquatic developments at the feasibility, planning, construction and operational phases.
In addition, Matthew is also a highly competent field scientist, having project managed and delivered successful multidisciplinary projects across a diverse range of freshwater and marine environments requiring the use of a multitude of scientific sampling and monitoring techniques, often requiring novel approaches.
