These directional antennas replace the standard omnidirectional antenna on the BaseStation to boost its communication range. The Panel Antenna Kit provides a mid-range upgrade with a directional, 40-degree beamwidth and the Yagi Antenna Kit provides a long-range upgrade with a highly directional, 25-degree beamwidth.

Product Description

By default, the BlueBoat BaseStation comes with an omnidirectional antenna that receives and transmits signals equally in all directions, making it ideal for short-range general use. For longer-range missions, a directional antenna is recommended and can greatly boost communication range by focusing the signal towards the BlueBoat.

The BaseStation Directional Antenna Kit comes in two versions:

The Panel Antenna Kit provides a mid-range upgrade with a wider 40-degree beamwidth.

The Yagi Antenna Kit provides a long-range upgrade with a narrower 25-degree beamwidth.

Both kits come with everything needed to install on the BaseStation.

You’ll want to mount these on a tripod at least 1.5 meters off the ground, but an even taller tripod will get you better performance. Check out the installation guide for more information about installing these on the BaseStation and configuring settings.
